Cellulite, also known as the rippled textured skin that many people have on the back of their thighs and buttocks, can cause you to feel self-conscious. BMI doesn’t necessarily determine if you have cellulite. It forms on people of all shapes and sizes. One of the most frustrating parts of having cellulite is there is no at-home treatment or workout that eliminates it from within.
The solution? A non-surgical cellulite treatment done by a professional! At Levitt Medical Aesthetics, we offer QWO as a minimally invasive cellulite solution. QWO treats cellulite on the buttocks and thighs—all with zero downtime.
Owned and operated by Dr. Scott Levitt, Levitt Medical Aesthetics is a med spa in Albany with a wide range of aesthetic services to meet the needs of Northwest Oregon. With years of experience and in-depth knowledge, we love helping our patients feel better and more confident through our treatments.
Below, we cover everything to know about QWO, our non surgical cellulite treatment in Albany.
What is cellulite?
Before learning more about how we treat cellulite with QWO, it’s important to understand what cellulite is.
Cellulite is a common skin condition, and, unfortunately, it is far more common in women than men.
There are a few factors that make women more susceptible to developing cellulite:
- Thin skin tissue
- Prevalence of fat cells
- Muscle tone
There are fibrous bands that connect the skin to underlying tissue. When the tissue in this area expands, it can cause tension on these bands. This leads to the dimpling effect of cellulite. Women have thinner skin than men, making it easier for skin to show texture of tissue below the skin and any tension on these fibrous bands.
These fibrous bands/structures creating the dimpling are the key to non-surgically improving cellulite—or even eliminating it!
All About QWO | Non-surgical Cellulite Treatment in Albany
QWO is a non-surgical, FDA-approved injectable solution for cellulite on the buttocks. This revolutionary new treatment is made of enzymes known as collagenases. These enzymes are believed to target structures (fibrous bands) beneath the skin at the root of cellulite, eliminating them from within.
QWO works by releasing these fibrous bands that cause uneven fat cell distribution. An added bonus to the QWO treatment is it also stimulates collagen. This helps create smoother, plumper, and healthier looking skin on the buttocks.
The Benefits of QWO
Non surgical cellulite treatment with no downtime
You don’t have to undergo an invasive surgical procedure with QWO. This treatment uses injections, so like our other injectables such as Botox and Dysport or dermal filler, you can expect quick treatment time and minimal to no pain.
There is also no downtime or recovery period necessary after a QWO treatment. Though it can cause bruising, you can maintain your normal routine throughout the treatment process.
Last-lasting results
Studies currently show QWO treatment results last for more than 4 years! As with any body contouring treatment, it’s important to live a healthy and active lifestyle to prolong your results.
Improved confidence
Many women limit what types of swimsuits, clothes, and even particular types of fabrics they wear because of self-consciousness associated with cellulite. With QWO, you can feel an improved sense of confidence and feel better in all types of clothing.
Treats thighs and buttocks
Dr. Levitt can treat both the thighs and buttocks areas to reduce or eliminate cellulite with QWO.
QWO treatment process
Consultation process
All patients at Levitt Medical Aesthetics see Dr. Levitt himself for a free 1-hour consultation. During this time, you invite you to discuss your areas of concern and expectations for this treatment. This consultation is important, so you get to know us and our practice, and we get to know you. Dr. Levitt takes the time to listen to your goals and determine whether QWO is the best treatment for your individual needs.
Treatment
At Levitt Medical Aesthetics, Dr. Levitt personally performs injectable treatments at our clinic, including QWO. After your initial consultation, the actual treatment sessions do not take long at all. Many patients fit these injections in on their lunch break. Each treatment session is about 10 minutes total.
Results usually start appearing 3 weeks after your first treatment. Though every patient is unique, on average, most need 3 treatments each spaced 3 weeks apart.
Aftercare
It is worth noting: although there is no downtime required, you can expect significant bruising after your first QWO treatment. This will fade by the time your second appointment comes around.
Bruising is less prevalent after each treatment session.
Results
Results from this non-surgical cellulite treatment can begin to appear as early as 3 weeks, with continued improvements over the following months. Patients generally receive 2 additional injections to maintain their results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is QWO a surgical procedure?
No, QWO is not a surgical procedure. QWO is a non-surgical cellulite treatment that targets a primary structural cause of cellulite. It is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for the treatment of moderate-to-severe cellulite on the buttocks.
Are there any side effects?
Common side effects include bruising, mild discomfort, areas of hardness, and discoloration. Bruising should resolve after the 3 weeks between each treatment session or after your final treatment appointment.
Why aren’t men as prone to developing cellulite as women?
Men aren’t as prone to developing cellulite as women because men have thicker skin, making any underlying tissue texture less noticeable. Their fibrous bands are also oriented in a crisscross structure, greatly reducing bulging associated with cellulite.
How can I tell if I have cellulite?
A lot of patients confuse skin laxity with cellulite. Cellulite looks like dimpled skin that is similar to the texture of an orange peel. Skin laxity is loose skin that sags (this is the primary cause of texture).
There are a variety of treatments to address skin laxity, including Evolve Transform, BBL SkinTyte, and AccuTite. The best way to find which treatment will fit your needs is through an in-person consultation or instant virtual consultation.
Is there a downtime period from treatment?
You will not need to block off any downtime after your QWO treatments. Patients can experience initial soreness, bruising, or tenderness in the treatment areas. These effects subside over time.
How long does a QWO treatment session take?
The QWO injection process is quick; it only takes about 10 minutes.
How many QWO sessions will I need?
Each patient is unique, but a full treatment of QWO is typically 3 sessions, each 3 weeks apart.
How long will my QWO results last?
The results of QWO can last for a very long time when you maintain a proper diet and exercise routine. Initial studies showed maintenance of results at 4 years! While we can’t say the results are permanent, QWO breaks down the collagen fibers that cause cellulite, and so it lasts for at least many years.
Treat both cellulite and skin laxity to further your results
The Morpheus8 by INMODE is a revolutionary minimally invasive skin resurfacing procedure that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy.
This treatment method is FDA-approved and uses needles like a traditional microneedling with an addition of RF energy deep in the skin, greatly improving skin laxity (sagging skin). This process creates micro lesions that stimulate your body into producing new collagen and elastin, which can firm your skin.
Combining Morpheus8 with QWO
You can add a Morpheus treatment to your QWO treatment to further increase results for a fuller, smoother buttocks by treating both cellulite and skin laxity—two concerns that many of our patients want to improve.
Results are fully realized over the course of 3 months following your first treatment session. Our patients are satisfied and see results that last.
