How it works
Dr. Scott Levitt offers Halo laser treatments at Levitt Medical Aesthetics in Albany, OR to provide his patients with the latest technology in skin rejuvenation available today.
The unique properties of the Halo make it a prime treatment for men and women of all ages and a broad range of skin concerns. By working on both the surface of the skin and deep within the dermal layers, the Halo laser produces results that are natural, dramatic and long-lasting.
The Halo laser is the first hybrid fractional device to combine ablative and non-ablative laser technology into a single procedure.
With just one handpiece, patients can receive the restorative powers of the fractional process and dramatic results with minimal discomfort and downtime.
We can adjust the laser based on the number of sessions a patient wants to commit to scheduling and how quickly they want to achieve their desired results.
With the ability to address a variety of skin imperfections at one time, the Halo laser offers superior skin rejuvenation regarding comfort, convenience and results.
We strongly believe that the Halo laser is simply the best skin rejuvenation laser on the market!
What to expect
Recovery time after a Halo treatment varies depending on the depth and intensity of the procedure.
Immediately after the treatment, you’ll typically have a sunburn-like sensation that will resolve within a couple of hours. Most patients apply makeup within 24 hours after the procedure, allowing them to return to their daily routine without worry people will know they just had a cosmetic procedure performed. Discomfort after treatment is minimal and not enough to keep you from any of your daily activities.
There is typically mild redness and swelling, which lasts for two to four days.
Around three to five days after treatment, you will notice a collection of brown spots form. These speckles are known as microscopic epithelial necrotic debris or MENDS. These form as a part of the healing process, indicating treated tissue is working its way out of the skin so that fresh new skin can form beneath. The spots fall off within a couple of days on their own. Within a week after your appointment, you will see the “Halo glow” that patients absolutely love.
Once you get your “glow” on, your skin looks smoother and imperfections and aging signs are noticeably reduced.
The improvements will continue in the weeks and even months following treatment as collagen production kicks in and the restorative processes create a refreshed, revitalized complexion. Patients that use sun protection and high-quality skin care products may enjoy their fresh look for years after their Halo treatment. We can perform additional treatments when the patient determines they need a touch-up.

FAQ
Because the Halo laser combines both ablative and non-ablative fractional laser technology, patients enjoy the best of both worlds from Halo treatments. Halo can address many common skin concerns, including: Fine lines and wrinkles; Pigmentation irregularities; Brown spots and freckles; Shallow scarring; Enlarged pores; Uneven skin texture or tone; Visible signs of sun damage. Candidates for this treatment should be in good health, with realistic expectations about what the procedure can do. In most cases, a commitment to a treatment plan that includes multiple sessions yields the best possible results. Dr. Levitt and the staff at Levitt Medical Aesthetics carefully assess each patient to determine whether the Halo laser is the appropriate treatment for them.
With a topical anesthetic and integrated cooling technology, most patients experience minor discomfort. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations, but are generally comfortable. We also offer Pro-Nox (laughing gas) at no extra cost to help keep you comfortable. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 1-2 hours, or a bit longer with deeper treatment levels. This feels like a sunburn and subsides quickly.
For the first 24 hours you should keep your skin protected according to your clinician’s instructions, but after that you should be able to go about your normal activities. After the first 24 hours your skin will begin to peel, but you will be able to put on makeup. For a facial treatment, you will see very little change on the first day. After two to three days you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four your skin will peel, revealing your new skin beneath.
We customize every Halo treatment for your skin and your lifestyle. Depending on your needs, Dr. Levitt may recommend a single treatment, or a series of treatments. In order to find out which is the best option for you, please visit us for a consultation.
