How it works
At Levitt Medical Aesthetics, board-certified Dr. Scott Levitt carries the entire line of both Restylane and JUVÉDERM products, providing patients with a variety of options from FDA-approved and trusted brands.
Each specific formulation of Restylane and JUVÉDERM offers distinct advantages and uses, and Dr. Levitt will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan for fillers in Albany that matches your aesthetic concerns.
Dermal fillers have been utilized for many years to smooth away wrinkles and restore youthful volume to the face, reversing some adverse effects of the aging process. Today, they have proven even more versatile with the addition of lip plumping to their long list of benefits. The dermal fillers used for lip treatments tend to be smoother with smaller particles than other formulations, producing natural volume without looking overdone.
Before receiving your lip fillers in Albany, OR, you’ll first consult with our experienced physician, Dr. Levitt. This will help us understand all your concerns and goals for your lips and recommend the best filler product for you, whether it’s Revanesse Versa, Restylane® Kysse™, or JUVÉDERM Ultra or Vollure. Each of these fillers is unique and offers distinct advantages depending on your personal lip goals.
Dr. Levitt will perform the injections to plump your lips and even out your lips based on your individual features and concerns.
What to expect
We have always recognized full and vivacious lips as aesthetically important features.
They are a central part of the face that everyone recognizes in daily social interactions.
Many patients report no pain during the injection process as lip fillers include lidocaine to minimize any discomfort.
Immediately after your lip filler injections, your lips may feel swollen and tight.
Most of the swelling improves after several days for our Albany and Corvallis patients. Icing the lips the first day can help improve the swelling and bruising.
Dr. Levitt recommends avoiding any physical activity that increases blood flow in the face, such as working out, for up to 24 hours after the procedure. It is normal to see one side of the lip more swollen than the other until all the swelling resolves. Swelling can last up to a full two weeks in some patients before the filler settles into place. If you require touch ups, Dr. Levitt advises waiting at least two weeks to ensure all swelling has resolved.
Your results should last 6 to 18 months.
Depending on how quickly your body metabolizes the hyaluronic acid in the fillers, your results should last 6 to 18 months before requiring another injection to maintain the results.
Before & after
FAQ
To ensure patient comfort during lip filler appointments, Dr. Levitt uses one of the strongest topical anesthetics available. All of the fillers that we offer in the Restylane and JUVÉDERM lineups already contain lidocaine in their formula, and will actively numb the treated areas during injection. Additionally, Dr. Levitt can inject lidocaine to completely get rid of any associated discomfort.
Though we rarely need it, hyaluronic acid fillers can be quickly dissolved using an enzyme known as hyaluronidase. This acts to disperse hyaluronic acid, speeding up the natural breakdown of the dermal filler.
The lips are a very sensitive area of the face, and while Dr. Levitt uses advanced injection techniques to minimize bruising and swelling, you may still experience these side effects. Don't be alarmed if your lips appear bigger than you wanted at first—this is just the swelling, and it will subside within a week or two. If you love the swelling, you might just need another syringe!
The amount of filler you get is ultimately up to you. During your consultation, you will discuss with Dr. Levitt what kind of results you’re looking for, and he will create a treatment plan that is right for you. Whether you are looking for an Instagram-ready pout, or just want your lips to look more hydrated without anyone else knowing, we’ll get you the results you’re after.
