How it works
Made famous by Kim Kardashian, a Vampire Facial treatment involves the use of our Rejuvapen NXT®, an FDA-cleared microneedling device, combined with PRP to rejuvenate the skin.
The Rejuvapen NXT uses tiny needles moving at a rapid rate to create a thousand channels per second in the epidermis and dermis of the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate fibroblasts the skin to produce more collagen and elastin, plumping the skin. When PRP is applied topically and microneedled deep into the channels during a Vampire Facial, results are enhanced and it reduces significantly downtime.
Vampire Facials can get closer to sensitive areas than most lasers. So while it is an overall rejuvenating treatment to improve skin texture, tone, wrinkles, and enhance collagen, it is especially effective at treating acne scarring and fine lines around the eyes.
The Vampire Facial is a year-round treatment that doesn’t take summers off. There are no restrictions on sun exposure or skin color, making it a safe and effective treatment for everyone!

What to expect
The process for microneedling with PRP begins with the collection of blood to make the PRP.
First, blood will be drawn from a vein in the arm, typically 5-15mL. The blood sample is then placed in a centrifuge which isolates the platelets, forming the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) concentration. This step in the process typically takes 15 minutes.
Dr. Levitt uses the Rejuvapen NXT to microneedle your face, and will then redeliver your PRP to your face topically.
When he is finished, he will not wash off your skin, as you should let the PRP stay on your skin for 6 to 24 hours to let it work it’s magic. Afterward, you’ll look and feel like you have a sunburn, perhaps accompanied by some mild bleeding and bruising. Your skin will be extra sensitive, so protect it from anything that might cause irritation for two to three days. Dr. Levitt will provide you with exact instructions and product recommendations to care for your skin post-treatment.
Patients concerned about their comfort during a Vampire Facial in Albany, OR can request topical anesthetic in addition to self-administered Pro-Nox nitrous oxide to ease discomfort and anxiety.
Optimal results of a Vampire Facial are seen 4 to 8 weeks after treatment, or the time it takes for new collagen and elastin to generate.
We recommend scheduling a Vampire Facial every 6 months to maintain the results and continue to rejuvenate your skin’s collagen foundation.

FAQ
Healthy men and women looking to reduce the appearance of mild-to-moderate fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, and other skin imperfections may be great candidates for a Vampire Facial. Those with more severe skin imperfections may want to consider more intensive cosmetic procedures. We do not recommend this treatment for patients who have used Accutane within six months, have open wounds or a skin infection, have had radiation treatment within the last year, are pregnant, or have a history of keloid scars.
Adding PRP to a microneedling treatment helps to boost the (already great) results of a traditional microneedling session. It increases the speed of your body’s healing process and the amount of collagen that is produced. Enhancing the results of microneedling without making the treatment more invasive is part of what makes this technique so innovative.
Microneedling with PRP is generally well tolerated, but you may see erythema (redness) after treatment, lasting for 2 to 3 days. Skin may also feel warm, tight, and itchy after treatment, though this normally resolves in 12 to 48 hours. We advise sun protection (hats and SPF 30+) for a week.
Vampire Facial results will last on average about one year. When you notice areas of concern popping up again, you should schedule a maintenance Vampire Facial at Levitt Medical Aesthetics.
