Find freedom from vascular lesions
Not long ago, there were few treatment options for those who noticed vascular lesions, the tiny visible veins that might appear red, blue, or purple.
If someone had an unsightly port wine stain on their cheek, visible red veins around their nose, or any other sort of abnormal vascular lesion, they were stuck covering it up with makeup and living with it.
These days, laser treatments are now a routine procedure for the removal of many types of vascular lesions, including hemangiomas, vascular malformations such as port-wine stains, telangiectasias, venous lakes, and angiomas. Levitt Medical Aesthetics is proud to own the Motus AY laser from Cartessa to provide the best vascular lesion treatment in Albany, OR.

How it works
Prominent vessels immediately under the surface of the skin are typically not dangerous to your health, but can be unsightly.
For many of these common vascular lesions, laser treatment with the Motus AY has proven to be the “gold standard” for treatment, as it provides a safe and effective way to treat the vessels without damaging surrounding tissues and it is safe for all skin tones.
Most laser systems with visible and infrared wavelengths emit energy that the skin largely reflects, thus reducing the energy available for therapeutic purposes. The unique Moveo handpiece was designed for the Motus AY vascular lesion laser to solve this problem, enabling 100% energy absorption. The result is double the energy transfer compared to standard and professional vascular lesion or pigmentation treatments.
During your initial consultation with Dr. Levitt, he will carefully evaluate your area(s) of concern to determine if vascular lesion treatment with the Motus AY laser is right for you. If he notices veins that would be better treated with Asclera® sclerotherapy, he can include these treatments in your customized treatment plan to address your concerns completely.

What to expect
With this laser vascular lesion treatment in Albany, OR, there are many variations of a “typical session,” and what happens during the session depends on the area(s) we treat.
Sometimes we apply numbing cream 30 to 90 minutes beforehand if we anticipate patient discomfort during the treatment. Before the treatment, patients lie down on an exam bed and we will clean the area to remove makeup and oils. Once the treated area is identified and confirmed, every person in the room wears eye protection.
Next, Dr. Levitt programs the Motus AY laser with the appropriate settings.
The Moveo handpiece is placed on the skin and goes to work targeting and eliminating vascular lesions. The sensation during treatment is very brief and often described as a heated pin-prick for each laser pulse. Treatment times vary because of the size of the area to be treated, but a typical Motus AY treatment takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes.
Applying mineral-based sunblock and avoiding UV exposure is important after this procedure.
Your skin will probably scab or crust and flake, though it is crucial that you do not pick at your skin or try to slough away the flakes, as you risk scarring or infection. Dr. Levitt recommends cold compresses to help with redness and swelling that many experience for 24 hours or so after treatment. Sleeping with your head elevated can also allow swelling to drain from the head and speed the healing process, if we treated your face.

The final result of your vascular lesion treatment is permanent. However, patients prone to excessive blood vessels may generate new vessels that require treatment in the future.
